Learn to Carve !
Sundog Retreat is offering a 41-week carving program funded by HRSDC. Seven people (young adults up to 30 years old) will have the chance to learn from some of the Yukon’s best carvers about creating art. Participants will experience eight 5-day all-expenses-paid sessions at Sundog Retreat, a great training centre 25 minutes north of Whitehorse
(check out www.sundogretreat.com).

Everyone will also receive c arving tools, and learn business skills to help them sell their work & start a career as a carver. Each participant also receives $216/week for 41 weeks (September 2005 to July 2006).
Young people must be committed to practice their carving for the full ten months, and be able to keep substance-free during sessions at Sundog Retreat.
No previous carving experience is required, although people with an interest in art or traditional crafts are particularly encouraged to apply. Participants are selected based on informal interviews/conversations.

Interested? Please call Andrew or Heather Finton at (867) 633-4183.
